Welcome, here is where we celebrate you! In this space, you can forge your new narrative. From day one, I will respect all of your life experiences: the ups, the downs, your past, and your present. With your initial step, we will begin to celebrate your fortitude and strengthen your resilience.

 I believe each of us has our personal unique voice and cradles within us profound insights into our narrative. However, sometimes that personal voice can become overwhelmed by the outside cacophony of sounds that attempt to distract us every day. Thus, I have cultivated a personal therapeutic style that derives from an Existential-BIPOC-Humanistic focus. This approach to therapy supports you to strengthen and to ground you in your true voice.

  From my humble first-generation/immigrant background (Cuban & Jamaican) and extensive travels globally, I have cultivated a personal Weltanschauung or worldview that cherishes the oneness of humanity. For many years, I have been a practicing Buddhist and Metaphysician. In my tranquil moments, I love curling up with a fabulous mystery novel and/or philosophy book and becoming spellbound by its imagery.

 Understanding that we all bloom at various periods throughout our life, maybe one of the reasons I chose to go back to school later in my life. I earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in English Literature at Marylhurst University. Thereafter, I received a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Columbia University. Additionally, I received a Master of Education in Psychological Counseling from Columbia University as well.

  I am a Trauma-informed Therapist. Therefore, I strive to create a collaborative therapeutic experience. Establishing a space that is heart-opening, inviting, judgement-free and secure-inducing is essential in my practice. The goal and emphasis throughout our alliance are to form equanimity and a balanced collaborative experience between you (the client) and myself. As a social justice Queer advocate and Therapist, I get how various institutionalized parameters may impact the flourishing of oneself: such as Anti-Blackness, Gender-Based Oppression, Capitalism, Anti-Climatic change, and all the other forms of systemic injustice. Respectively, my therapeutic praxis inculcates from an anti-oppressive, gender-affirming, and Mindful-radical acceptance perspective. Throughout my work, there has been a focus towards but not limited to: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, LGBTQ+, non-monogamy, relational conflict, geropsychology, and Somatic theory.

 I wholeheartedly believe life should be a gorgeous odyssey. So, let’s begin to explore your gorgeous narrative and amplify your unique voice together.
