Having a strong support system helps people overcome challenges more easily and maintain a state of mental well-being. Research shows human connection also decreases health risks and improves physical well-being and longevity. Choosing the right therapist is an important task, that is where connection comes into the process. We want a therapist that understands us, one that we can feel safe with. I want to thank you for taking the first step to take care of your mental health. Mental health is just as important as physical health; we can’t take care of one and not the other. I am here to support you in reaching your treatment goals. I have a passion for helping people; I am registered as an addiction technician.
I offer a range of therapeutic modali9es with solu9on focus and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy being my core. I have experience with trauma, sexual abuse, addic9on, correc9onal re-entry amongst other mental diagnosis. I am in the process of being certified in TF-CBT (trauma focused cognitive therapy). I have experience in residential treatment facilities, group homes working with a variety of diverse populations. I believe as long as we are here, we can always grow and create the life we want. As a single African American mother of three, child of a single parent home, divorcee, raised in an urban community and domestic violence survivor, I understand the many complexities of life because I’ve lived them too. I offer spiritually integrative psychotherapy which utilizes spirituality as a key component in alleviating suffering (depression, anxiety, grief, doubt, self-criticism, trauma, etc.). I look forward to helping you identify your strengths and heal from traumas. A fun fact about me is I love to laugh and tell jokes. I love to learn and I am therapist because I enjoy listening, learning and helping others. Every day is a new day; live for today; live in the moment; we can’t change yesterday but we can change today.
Therapy guided questions: “Imagine going about your life as normal and heading off to sleep at the usual 9me. Unknown to you, during the night, something happens- a miracle. When you wake up the following day, something exciting has happened. The very problem that brought you to see me today is no longer there, what would be the first difference you would no9ce in your life. What is going on in your life right now? What are your day-to-day struggles? How is your spiritual life going?
I offer in person and online services; whatever works for you
