Paramdeep Kaur Singh
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 156108)
Welcome! My name is Paramdeep Kaur Singh, but you are more than welcome to call me by my nickname, Pammi. I am a board-registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (156108). I provide services under the clinical supervision of Nahomie Guillaume, LMFT (48571), and Kristi Abbott, LCSW (65194).
I earned my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California State University, Bakersfield, in 2025, and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, in 2018.
My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and empowering space where clients feel heard, understood, and met with compassion. I strive to offer a warm and welcoming environment that encourages exploration, collaboration, and client autonomy.
I specialize in working with clients who are navigating family conflict, relational issues, and cultural challenges, especially immigrants and children of immigrants. I work with clients of all ages, including children as young as 5, teens, and adults, and I provide individual, family, and couples therapy. My areas of focus also include trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, grief, South Asian and Pacific Islander identities, women’s issues, and LGBTQ+ support.
I provide therapy services in English only; however, I understand Hindi and bring cultural awareness to my work with clients navigating multilingual, multicultural, immigrant, and first-generation experiences.
I have experience supporting South Asian communities, Fijian and Pacific Islander communities, immigrant families, children of immigrants, first-generation college students, multicultural families, interracial couples and relationships, and clients exploring cultural identity, family expectations, intergenerational patterns, and belonging. I am also open to supporting clients navigating LGBTQ+ identity and women’s issues.
When requested by clients and within my scope of practice, I am comfortable making space for faith, spirituality, religious identity, personal values, and cultural traditions as part of the therapeutic process, while honoring each client’s beliefs, culture, and autonomy.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, which means I draw from different approaches depending on what works best for each client’s needs. Some of the modalities I utilize include person-centered therapy, psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), attachment-based therapy, play therapy, and family systems.
As a child of immigrants, a first-generation college student, and someone connected to mixed South Asian and Fijian cultural heritage, I understand the internal and external difficulties that come with navigating the different identities and cultures we are part of. My goal is to provide support, as well as therapeutic tools, that help facilitate healing and growth.
My clinical background includes outpatient therapy, intakes, clinical assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and safety planning. I have also supported children and families through advocacy, case management, peer counseling, conflict management, and crisis-line work with individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child abuse, and stalking.
I especially enjoy supporting clients with family conflict, relationship concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, attachment concerns, cultural identity concerns, life transitions, parenting concerns, women’s issues, LGBTQ+ support, and clients seeking a compassionate space to better understand themselves and their relationships.
Outside of therapy, I spend my time exploring new coffee shops in different cities, spending time with loved ones, reading fiction, and, possibly, binge-watching TV shows.
If this feels like the right fit for you and your therapeutic goals, I invite you to reach out to schedule an appointment. I recognize the strength it takes to seek support, and I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey.
