Jasmeen Kaur

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT#163127)

My name is Jesmeen Kaur, and I am an associate marriage and family therapist with a strong foundation in clinical psychology and a genuine passion for supporting individuals on their journey towards healing and growth. I provide services under the clinical supervision of Nahomie Guillaume, LMFT (#T1492) and Kristi Abbott, LCSW (#65194).

I earned my Master's in Arts and Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, where I developed a deep appreciation for the complexities of the human mind and the therapeutic relationship. I have three years of clinical experience, where one year includes a practicum that I completed at a residential treatment center, followed by two years as a substance use disorder counselor. With these two roles, I have formed experiences that have given me a real-world understanding of the challenges my clients face, especially those who are navigating through addiction, trauma, and complex family dynamics.

I approach each client with curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to creating a safe and nonjudgmental space. I utilize the psychodynamic framework, in which lasting change often comes from exploring how our past experiences, unconscious patterns, and early relationships shape who we are today.

By helping clients develop self-awareness and insight into their past, I support them in building a more fulfilling and authentic life. My areas of expertise include substance use in recovery, trauma, and its lasting impact, and family dynamic challenges. Whether I'm working with individuals who are recovering or untangling the weight of generational patterns, I meet my clients where they are and walk alongside them with compassion and care.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy staying active at the gym and exploring new cultures through travel, both of which reflect my belief in the importance of balance, curiosity, and self care.

I provide services in English and Punjabi, and I can offer moderate conversational ability in Hindi and Urdu as well, and connect meaningfully with people from diverse South Asian backgrounds.
