Bebina Acharya
Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW 138647)
Hi, my name is Bebina Acharya. I am a board-registered Associate Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work and over five years of professional experience supporting individuals through a wide range of life challenges and transitions. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2020, and my Bachelor’s in Social Work from St. Xavier’s College, Tribhuvan University, also in Kathmandu, Nepal. I also completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Gerontology Interprofessional Practice and a Personal Support Worker Certificate through Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. As an ASW, I provide services under the clinical supervision of Nahomie Guillaume, LMFT (48571), and Ashley Oakes, LCSW (130871).
Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals navigating emotional difficulties, stress, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, and changes that affect their overall well-being. My background includes providing evidence-based care in community health, adult day health care, long-term care, and residential care settings. I have supported adolescents, students, young adults, working professionals, older adults, adults with disabilities, medically complex individuals, and families navigating dementia, chronic illness, caregiver stress, palliative care, and end-of-life transitions.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, strengths-focused, and client-centered. I strive to create a safe and authentic space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, respected, and understood. I draw from person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness-based, attachment-based, and family systems approaches, depending on each client’s needs and goals. I believe therapy is not about changing who you are, but about developing a deeper understanding of yourself, recognizing patterns that may no longer serve you, and building the confidence and kills needed to move forward. Together, we can explore past experiences, identify current challenges, and develop practical strategies that support meaningful and lasting change.
I provide individual, couples, and family therapy, with a primary focus on working with individuals, teens ages 13 and up, young adults, adults, and older adults. I also work with younger children and middle-aged adults on a limited basis. I support clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety and stress, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties, family conflict, parenting concerns, grief and loss, trauma, academic and career pressures, major life transitions, self-esteem and confidence concerns, cultural identity concerns, caregiver stress, chronic illness, identity exploration, and questions related to purpose and direction. I am open to supporting clients navigating pregnancy, postpartum changes, multicultural relationships, and family relationship concerns as I continue to grow in these areas through supervision, consultation, and ongoing professional development.
I believe every individual brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives to the therapeutic process. My goal is to meet each client where they are and work alongside them to develop a path that feels authentic and meaningful to them. I also enjoy working with individuals who may not be experiencing a specific crisis but are seeking greater self-awareness, balance, clarity, and personal growth. Through an evidence-based and individualized approach, I hope to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen emotional resilience, develop practical coping skills, and feel more empowered in their everyday lives.
I am also passionate about providing culturally responsive and inclusive support. I speak English, Nepali, and Hindi, which allows me to connect with clients and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. My professional and educational experiences have included work with immigrant communities, South Asian communities, older adults, adults with disabilities, caregivers, families, and individuals navigating cultural adjustment, identity, grief, caregiving, and major life changes. I value the role that culture, family, faith, relationships, and life experiences can play in shaping how we understand ourselves and approach challenges.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and creating meaningful memories with my loved ones. I believe that experiencing new places and cultures can broaden our perspective, encourage curiosity, and remind us of the importance of making space for joy and connection in our lives.
If you are looking for a supportive space to feel heard, gain clarity, and move toward meaningful change, I would be honored to walk alongside you in that process.
